Adopt a pet for just $11, Veterans Day weekend only

HONOLULU (KHON2) — Looking to adopt a pet? This Veterans Day weekend only, from Nov. 8 to Nov. 11, the Hawaiian Humane Society is offering $11 adoptions for the nearly 1,000 animals–including cats, dogs, rabbits and guinea pigs–in their care.

“We’re at capacity right now, which means our staff and volunteers are stretched thin and severely limits our ability to provide the individualized attention each animal deserves,” said Anna Neubauer, president and CEO of the Hawaiian Humane Society.

Neubauer hopes each animal will be able to find a home and family.

“Our shelters are full of amazing animals who are ready to bring joy, companionship and unconditional love into their new homes. The longer pets remain in a shelter environment, the more challenging it becomes for them,” Neubauer said. “Finding homes for these animals isn’t just about creating space, it’s about giving each one the chance to thrive in a family setting where they can receive the individual care and attention they need.”
