HONOLULU (Island News) – The Hawaiian Council is set to administer the Office of Hawaiian Affairs’ $6.1 million Emergency Assistance Program to support Native Hawaiian beneficiaries affected by the federal government shutdown and SNAP benefit suspensions.
According to the Hawaiian Council, starting November 10, eligible applicants can apply online. The program targets Native Hawaiians impacted by reduced SNAP benefits and federal civilian workers facing furloughs or pay interruptions.
