Man indicted with attempted murder for allegedly beating visitor in Waikiki

WAIKIKI, Hawaii (Island News) — A man was indicted with attempted murder on Wednesday in connection to an unprovoked attack on a visitor in Waikiki over the weekend.

Ishmael Piula Luavasa, 43, was indicted with second-degree attempted murder by the Honolulu Prosecuting Attorney on Wednesday, Nov. 12, following an assault in front of the Waikiki Beachside Hostel on Lemon Road. Luvasa allegedly attacked a 50-year-old man who was visiting after 12 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 8.

As a result of the beating, the man sustained severe head injuries and was taken to The Queen’s Medical Center…
