State confirms second case of avian flu

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – The state has confirmed its second case of the highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI).

The Department of Land and Natural Resources said the northern pintail (koloa mapu) was found in Maui, along the Wailea shoreline, and tested positive for H5N1.
