HONOLULU — Taco Bell is giving fans a chance to shape the menu at its Hawaiʻi locations. On November 20, the fast-food chain launched its new Fan Style Menu, featuring three items designed by everyday customers. This move reflects Taco Bell’s effort to involve its most loyal diners in menu innovation and reward their creativity.
The Fan Style Menu concept grew from a trend in the Taco Bell app. Many customers were already creating personalized orders, experimenting with different ingredients, and sharing them online. The company decided to take this practice one step further and turn it into a national initiative.
Fan Chefs and Their Creations
Taco Bell reviewed thousands of submissions from fans across the country. From these, three were selected as honorary Fan Chefs based on creativity, originality, name appeal, and potential for nationwide success. The winners — Brock from Michigan, Sandra from Missouri, and Kajol from Kentucky — visited Taco Bell’s headquarters in Irvine, California, to see their ideas brought to life.
California Crunchwrap
Brock created the California Crunchwrap, a twist on a classic favorite. It combines steak, seasoned fries, and guacamole, all wrapped in a grilled Crunchwrap shell. Inspired by California flavors, it delivers a fun and comforting experience with every bite. “I kept seeing people in California add fries to their burritos, so I tried it in a Crunchwrap,” Brock said. “It just worked. Now it’s my new Taco Bell staple, and I can’t wait for people everywhere to try it.”
Burrito Bliss
Kajol designed the Burrito Bliss, a vegetarian take on the Cheesy Bean and Rice Burrito. It features seasoned rice, refried beans, Pico de Gallo, Fiesta Strips, and creamy Avocado Ranch, all grilled to a golden finish. “I mixed some of my favorite ingredients into something simple but satisfying,” Kajol explained. “I can’t believe something I made for fun is now on the menu.”
Cantina Craze
Sandra’s Cantina Craze enhances the Cantina Chicken Crispy Taco with Creamy Jalapeño Sauce, lettuce, tomatoes, and a touch of Reduced Fat Sour Cream. The taco stays crispy while delivering a bold, flavorful experience. “I usually go for beef, but I started experimenting with the Cantina Chicken Crispy Taco,” Sandra said. “I didn’t expect it to reach the national menu. My friends and family are going to love it.”
How Fans Can Participate
The Fan Style feature launched in July within the Taco Bell app. Members can build a custom order, give it a name, and share it. Each time someone orders a fan creation through its link, the creator earns rewards points. Over 40,000 submissions were received, and select Fan Styles have earned spots on the national menu.
The three winning items are available exclusively through the Taco Bell app and in-store kiosks. Fans who want to create future menu items can use the app to build and share their own Fan Styles. The more orders a creation receives, the more rewards points the creator earns…
