Man, 60, arrested for alleged assault on HPD officer

HONOLULU (KHON2) — A 60-year-old man was arrested for allegedly assaulting a Honolulu Police Department officer in Waikīkī on the morning of Nov. 27.

The incident occurred when HPD officers responded to a call on Kalākaua Avenue and ʻOhua Avenue. When they arrived, the suspect allegedly bit and kicked an officer multiple times, officials said.

As a result of the alleged assault, the officer sustained an injury to his hand and experienced pain in his body, police said. He was hospitalized in good condition, authorities said.
