One of Hawai‘i’s most beloved holiday traditions is kicking off earlier than usual this year. Honolulu City Lights officially opens on Friday, Nov. 29, a full week ahead of its typical December launch. Organizers want to make sure families don’t miss the celebrations by assuming Opening Night happens later.
“This year, it’s important to point out that City Lights opens one week earlier than usual, We’d hate for people to miss it thinking opening night is in December,” says Sheri Kajiwara, Co-Executive Director and Board Member of Friends of Honolulu City Lights.
Although ongoing construction will reduce the number of outdoor displays on the grounds, Kajiwara says families can still expect all the festive fun they’ve enjoyed for generations…
