Commemoration events for 84th anniversary of Pearl Harbor attack

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Pacific Historic Parks is hosting a week of free commemorative events to mark the 84th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor.

On Dec. 7, 1941, a surprise attack on Oahu’s naval and air bases drew the United States into World War II.

In less than two hours, more than 2,400 Americans were killed, including 1,177 aboard the USS Arizona. Battleships were sunk or damaged, aircraft were destroyed on the ground, and the harbor fell silent beneath smoke and fire…
