HONOLULU (KHON2) — A Kauai lifeguard who was bitten by a shark will get to spend Christmas at home.

Chance Swanson was discharged on Dec. 1 from the Queen’s Medical Center on Oahu.
Swanson was bit by a shark in Hanalei Bay on Nov. 5, which severed a major artery in his leg.
He was initially treated at Wilcox Medical Center before being transported to Queen’s, where he underwent seven procedures.
“I’m really excited to go home,” Swanson said. “I can’t wait. I’m ready to jump on the plane and get going.”…
