Man, 60, indicted for alleged assault on HPD officer

HONOLULU (KHON2) — A 60-year-old man was indicted for an alleged assault of a Honolulu Police Officer, the Honolulu Department of the Prosecuting Attorney said on Dec. 3.

Tommy Chiles was arrested for allegedly assaulting an officer on the morning of Nov. 27 in Waikīkī. Police alleged that Chiles had kicked and bit an officer multiple times, sending him to the hospital.

The alleged assault happened 10 days after Chiles was released on his own recognizance in a felony drug case, the Department of the Prosecuting Attorney said.
