From Monday, Dec. 8 to 11, a portion of Kailua Beach Park will close during the day to make way for the removal of a dozen ironwood trees, according to the Honolulu Department of Parks and Recreation.
The closure is effective from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and includes about 550 feet of shoreline along with the adjacent parking spaces on the makai side of the Kalapawai Roundabout. The area is commonly used for kite surf launches.
