Waianae Police Station to begin expansion, bringing more police presence to West Side

WAIANAE, Oahu (KHON2) — After years of discussion, construction is finally underway to improve the second floor of the Waianae Police Station.

Despite a $16 million renovation, the police station has remained largely unused since its 2016 dedication, reserved for bookings and minimal holdings.

Nonprofit pays off mortgage for family of fallen HPD officer

On Monday, Dec. 8, construction began to bring private and shared offices, an interrogation room, observation space and a pantry to the second floor.
