Assault on Moanalua High School athletic director draws anger from community

MOANALUA, Hawaii (Island News) — An off-duty 350-pound corrections officer was seen punching Moanalua High School associate athletic director Natalie Iwamoto in the face, knocking her to the ground where she remained for more than 10 minutes.

“It’s appalling,” said Keith Hayashi “It’s horrific, you know, these kinds of things cannot happen anywhere on our campus or anywhere for that matter.”

After the assault, Iwamoto said in her petition for a temporary restraining order against Aukusitino Noga Jr. that her attacker demonstrated a chilling lack of remorse, saying she deserved it as his wife stands over her pacing back and forth.

“We have seen an increasing and escalating environment of violence that involve school employees in particular, like in this case, or other government employees,” said Randy Perreira, executive director of the Hawaii Government Employees Association…
