Three pedestrians struck by truck in Po’ipu, driver arrested for DUI

POIPU, Hawaii (KHON2) — In Kaua’i, three pedestrians suffered injuries following a vehicle collision on Sunday, Dec. 21.

At around 8 p.m., a 2016 Ram truck was driving southbound on Ho’owili Road, crossed the centerline and hit three pedestrians walking on the northbound shoulder.

The pedestrians — a 43-year-old man, 43-year-old woman and a child — were taken to Wilcox Medical Center and treated for their injuries.

The operator of the truck, a 52-year-old woman of Hanapēpē, was uninjured and arrested for Operating a Vehicle Under the Influence of an Intoxicant, Reckless Driving, Inattention to Driving and three counts of Negligent Injury in the First Degree…
