New Ocean Safety Chief shares goals for 2026

HONOLULU (KHON2) – Honolulu’s very first Ocean Safety Chief was sworn into his new position on Monday, Dec. 22.

Kurt Lager was unanimously chosen for the job by Honolulu’s Ocean Safety Commission. The San Diego native has been the department’s interim director since July 2024.
