Excitement builds hours before the Hawaii Bowl

HONOLULU (KHON2) — For the first time in six years, the UH Manoa Rainbow Warriors are hosting the Hawaii Bowl, and anticipation couldn’t be higher.

“The day was already going to be special because Hawaii is back in the Hawaii Bowl,” said Eric “Captain Fun” Matthews, UH Athletics Director of Marketing. “But you add those storylines into it, with not a rival, but a team that could be a rival in terms of how everything’s kind of changed the last handful of years, it could not have gone any better to get to this point.

“I’ve been a UH fan for years. I was there with Nick and Timmy, it’s exciting times for UH Football,” said one fan, Gerry, at the Na Koa football club pregame.
