Shoppers on Oahu scramble for firecrackers for New Year’s Eve celebrations

HONOLULU (KHON2) — Firecracker sales kicked off across the state early morning on Friday, Dec. 26, and hundreds lined up to get what they could.

Most shoppers felt fortunate to get some firecrackers because they say it seems like many stores are selling out quickly.

As firecracker sales start, shoppers are grabbing all that they can for their New Year’s Eve celebrations.

“Oh boy, we missed the early morning on,e and we had to come back at 10,” said Doreen Ariola, Halawa resident. “And they had a whole bunch at 10 o’clock, so I’m happy for our family. They’ll be blessed.”…
