KAILUA, Hawaii (KHON2) — An injured hiker was rescued Sunday, Dec. 28, from Lanikai Pillbox Trail in Kailua.
The incident happened just after 8 a.m., when a female in her 20s was hiking with a partner and sustained an injury to her left lower leg. Officials say she was unable to continue on her own.

Rescuers arrived at her side at around 8:23 a.m. and gave her basic life support. The injured hiker was transferred to EMS at 9 a.m.
