Injured hiker rescued from Kaʻau Crater Trail in Palolo

PALOLO, Hawaii (KHON2) — An injured hiker was rescued Sunday, Dec. 28, from the mountain summit above Kaʻau Crater Trail in Palolo.

Honolulu Fire Department responded to an injured hiker on the mountain summit above the trail at around 4:27 p.m.

HFD rescues injured hiker on Koko Head on Christmas morning

The incident occurred when a male in his 20s was hiking with two others for about five hours, became weak and was unable to move on his own.

At around 5:07 p.m., HFD provided basic life support and the injured hiker was transferred to the EMS at 5:31 p.m…
