HONOLULU (KHON2) — There is no tsunami threat to Hawaiʻi following a preliminary 6.5 earthquake that struck off the state of Guerrero in Mexico, officials said.
The National Weather Service Pacific Tsunami Warning Center in Honolulu issued the statement following the earthquake, which occurred shortly before 4 a.m. HST on Jan. 2.
