Armed officers to provide security at 3 Oahu schools

HONOLULU (KHON2) — Honolulu police and the Hawaii Department of Education are rolling out a new pilot program to boost safety at select Oahu campuses.

Dedicated school resource officers will be assigned to three high schools.

The pilot program is slated to place special duty resource officers at Waianae, Kapolei and Kaimuki high schools before the current school year wraps up.
