Two Hawaii care home operators fined by the state for leaving seniors with unqualified caregivers

HONOLULU (Island News) — The Hawaii Department of Health (DOH) fined a care home operator on Maui and Oahu for leaving seniors under the care of people who were not qualified caregivers.

The DOH Office of Health Care Assurance issued a Notice of Violation and Order (NOVO) against Chita Madariaga and Medy Madrid Simmons for leaving seniors of the Community Care Foster Family Home (CCFFH) they operate with unqualified adults who were not certified caregivers. Madariaga is the operator of the family home in Wailuku and Simmons is the operator of the family home in Waianae.
