Masked Crew With Gun Jumps Two 21-Year-Olds Near Makapuʻu Beach Before Dawn

On Sunday at about 2:45 a.m., a quiet stretch near Makapuʻu Beach and Baby Makapuʻu Beach in Waimānalo turned into a crime scene when two 21-year-old men were robbed at gunpoint. Police say a group of roughly six to eight masked suspects ordered the pair to the ground, threatened them with a firearm, assaulted one of the men, grabbed property and then took off in a gold Toyota Tacoma.

The Honolulu Police Department later posted about the incident on X, noting that the robbery happened at approximately 2:45 a.m. on Sunday and urging anyone with information to call 911 or CrimeStoppers at (808) 955-8300, according to Honolulu Police.
