New York duty-free store to replace DFS at Hawaii airports

HONOLULU (Island News) — After the duty-free retailer DFS closes this year, International Shoppes (iShoppes) will take its place in airports across the state this spring.

iShoppes, the New York-based duty free and specialty retail store, was selected by the Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) to open at the Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL) and Kahului Airport (OGG). HDOT announced on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2026, that iShoppes will take over shops that are operated by DFS starting on April 1 in a 10-year contract.

DFS is closing after 63 years in Hawaii—the Waikiki location closed on Jan. 28 and the HNL store will close on March 31. iShoppes will renovate the DFS spaces it’s moving into, but it will remain open as the final touches to renovation and construction plans are made…
