Rachel Radona, a Hawaiʻi-born artist known for her bright, island-inspired style, officially debuted her new mural Tuesday, Feb. 10. The vibrant piece features bold colors, blooming plumeria and a design she says is meant to reflect the warmth of Hawaiʻi for every traveler who passes through the airport.

Radona shared her excitement on social media, calling the project a dream come true. She thanked the mentors and friends who supported her from the beginning and celebrated the chance to bring local artwork into one of the state’s busiest spaces.

She says the mural represents years of growth, both as an artist and as a UH cheerleader, balancing athletics, school and her growing art career. Her goal, she says, is to keep inspiring young local creatives to chase big opportunities.

The mural is now on display for all airport visitors in lobby four of the Daniel K. Inouye Airport…
