Power restored to thousands on Oahu after outage

HONOLULU (Island News) — Hawaiian Electric customers in several parts of Oahu have their power back after an outage that lasted a few hours on Friday.

Hawaiian Electric reported that power outages began around 1:30 p.m. The affected areas include Aiea Heights, Halawa, Hauula, Kaaawa, Kahaluu, Kaneohe, Laie, Pearl City, Punaluu, Temple Valley, Windward Mall, Kahuku and Laie.

The bulk of these outages happened in Central and East Oahu. A total of over 14,000 customers are impacted by the outage. All of the customers in Windward Oahu had their power restored by 5 p.m…
