Wahiawa dirt bike crash prompts rescue by HFD, man seriously injured

WAHIAWA, Hawaii (Island News) – The Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) responded to an injured dirt biker near the Dole Plantation in Wahiawa on Sunday morning.

HFD responded near Whitmore Village at approximately 10:31 a.m. after it was reported that a man, believed to be in his 40s, was injured while dirt biking and was unable to get down a trail on his own.

An HFD helicopter got to the biker’s location where medical treatment was provided at 11:02 a.m. Due to the tree canopy above the biker’s location, additional rescue personnel were inserted to help with getting the man to a clearing for the helicopter…
