Rooted in aloha: What Laulau Solutions is all about

WAIALUA, Hawaiʻi (KHON2) — What started as a pandemic passion project has grown into a nonprofit organization focused on practicing and preserving traditional Hawaiian agriculture.

Rooted in providing fresh, free and accessible food in the midst of COVID-19 blossomed into a school of community, connection and aloha, taught by none other than Joey Cadiz.

“When the stay-at-home orders were put on the people of Hawaiʻi and realizing that people had lost their jobs and certain income, food was being kind of limited to what they had at home,” Cadiz said. “Getting back to a traditional diet with nutrients that we have here in Hawaiʻi was my idea of getting people back to health in a different, broader perspective.”…
