Support Native Hawaiian businesses at monthly Waimanalo pop-up market

WAIMANALO (HawaiiNewsNow) – A monthly pop-up marketplace in Windward Oahu invites the public to support Native Hawaiian creators, businesses and traditions.

The next Puuhonua Makeke takes place on Feb. 21 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at 41-1300 Waikupanaha St. in Waimanalo. Admission is free.

Creator Lehuanani Kanahele-Santos, who also owns Kanahele Roots and Pohinahina Kinis, joined HNN’s Sunrise to talk about the event. The 24-year-old wahine and mahiai (farmer) from Puuhonua o Waimanalo says it’s her way to help “promote malama aina, Hawaiian culture and language, sustainability, and the nurturing of animals.”…
