AIEA, Hawaii (Island News) — Police arrested a 37-year-old man who escaped custody after allegedly assaulting his wife in front of their kids in Aiea last month.
On Saturday, Jan. 17, 2026, at 2:20 p.m., Tiofilusi Tongamoa, 37, allegedly assaulted his wife in front of their children, all under the age of 14, inside of their Aiea home. When police officers arrived at the home, Tongamoa was placed under arrest for felony abuse.
After being handcuffed, police said that he pulled away from officers and fled the scene. His escape initiated a search for the armed and dangerous man…
