Man, 32, dies after struggling in waters off Ko Olina

HONOLULU (KHON2) — A 32-year-old man is dead after he was found struggling to stay afloat in the waters off of Ko Olina on Feb. 16, the Honolulu Police Department said.

Honolulu Emergency Medical Services initially responded to reports of the struggling swimmer at approximately 1:43 p.m. According to first responders, good Samaritans had pulled him from the water and started lifesaving measures prior to their arrival.

Before his rescue, the man was observed struggling to stay afloat and was underwater for several minutes, HPD said.

EMS took over the first aid response from the good Samaritans before taking him to the hospital in critical condition…
