HONOLULU (KHON2) — The pup of this week’s Wags and Whiskers is Crouton! This sweet boy is currently available for adoption through the Maui Humane Society.
In August 2025, he was found lost in Kula, extremely skinny and very frightened. Although the Humane Society team provided plenty of TLC, the shelter environment was overwhelming for him. His fear was so strong that, despite desperately needing to gain weight, he struggled to eat.
A loving foster home made all the difference for Crouton. With patience, consistency, and the comfort of another friendly dog nearby, he began to relax, eat well, and steadily gain the weight and confidence he needed. Crouton has grown tremendously and continues to thrive outside the shelter setting!
He does best with another dog around — it helps him feel safe and brings out his playful, affectionate side. Crouton is looking for a patient, loving home where he can keep blossoming, ideally as a wonderful little brother to an existing pup!…
