Woman, 60s, air lifted out of Lanikai Pillbox Trail

HONOLULU (KHON2) — The Honolulu Fire Department rescued an injured hiker from the Lanikai Pillbox Trail on the morning of Feb. 19.

HFD officials received the 911 call relating to the injured hiker at 9:49 a.m. Within 10 minutes, units were on the scene to conduct the rescue.

Responding rescuers traveled up the trail on foot to search for the injured hiker. During this, HFD officials also secured a nearby landing zone to prepare for an air search.
