Update at 5:15 p.m. Feb. 21, 2026: The flood watch in effect for Kaua‘i and Ni‘ihau will remain in effect through tonight until 6 a.m. Sunday (Feb. 22) as a vigorous upper-level trough continues to slowly swing through the state this afternoon and continue to bring unstable weather conditions overnight.
Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall will also continue to be possible.
Heavy showers and isolated thunderstorms will continue to be possible overnight. The trough axis should lift north of the area by Sunday morning, which should diminish the flooding threat.
