HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Instead of holding their typical Sunday mass, parishioners at Anchor Church in Kaneohe spent the morning shoveling out debris blocking their driveway left by Saturday’s storm.
Heavy rain and flash flooding were seen by residents across Oahu and Kauai early Saturday morning. Heavy rain is also expected for most of the state late Sunday night and into Monday.
“We haven’t seen so much water in a very long time. It was almost like a Noah’s Ark in biblical proportions,” pastor Guy Souza said. “At one point, we were worried we were going to lose our driveway, but fortunately, it’s okay. Water was coming off of the watershed here, and just overran everything, the roadway, the natural waterway.”…
