HONOLULU (KHON2) — A Hawaii woman is going the extra mile to raise money for Alzheimer’s Awareness.
Hawaii nonprofits struggle to fundraise amid economic strain, rising community need
Lori McCarney just finished a 24-hour bike ride around Lagoon Drive. The Alzheimer’s Association board member started cycling at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 21.
Despite the rain yesterday, McCarney raised money for the association’s “Do what you love” fundraising campaign.
Her ride is a powerful display of endurance after losing her father to the disease ten years ago.
