HONOLULU (Island News) — Moderate to breezy trade winds are blowing across Hawaii as a strong high pressure system sits far north of the islands. These winds are bringing clouds and showers, mainly to windward and mountain areas.
Right now, windward sides—especially on the eastern islands—are seeing scattered to numerous showers. Leeward areas are mostly drier, although a few showers may occasionally move over.
Trade winds are expected to continue through Thursday. Showers will keep favoring windward and mauka locations, but rain should gradually decrease over the next couple of days.
By Friday and Saturday, a weakening front approaching from the west will cause the winds to ease and shift slightly. However, most of the moisture with this front is expected to stay west of the islands, so conditions should remain fairly dry…
