Kailua Garage Erupts in Flames as HFD Snuffs Two-Alarm Blaze in Minutes

Honolulu firefighters quickly put down a fast-moving two-alarm building fire in Kailua on Saturday afternoon, according to the Honolulu Fire Department. Crews ramped up their response soon after arriving on scene but still managed to get the blaze under control and fully out in roughly 20 minutes.

As reported by KHON2, fire trucks were dispatched to the Lunaanela area of Kailua at 12:33 p.m. The first arriving unit found a garage on fire and quickly knocked down the flames. The department upgraded the incident to a second alarm by 12:37 p.m., marked the fire as under control at 12:40 p.m., and noted that EMS arrived at 12:45 p.m.; crews reported the fire fully extinguished at 12:53 p.m.
