OHA owns about 29 acres in the area and is working with the Hawaii Community Development Authority to update the areas long term plan.
At Thursday’s board meeting, trustees got a preview of early concepts ahead of the first public community meeting scheduled for Saturday.
“Shows primarily public space and green space, the bulk of it,” said Daniel Sandmeyer, managing director of Real Estate Land Division Office of Hawaiian Affairs.
“This would be 200-foot towers and dropping to 60-foot towers along Harbor Front, and you can see public access along Kewalo,” Sandmeyer added. “This shows the harbor front promenade. What we’ve done is step back to respect SMA setback required.”…
