HPD investigates Sandy Beach terroristic threatening

HONOLULU (Island News) — The Honolulu Police Department opened a terroristic threatening investigation in East Oahu on Friday, after a suspect threatened another man with a gun and rammed into a police vehicle.

HPD reports the incident happened at around 1:35 a.m. Friday morning, March 6, 2026, at Wāwāmalu Beach, better known as Sandy Beach Park. The 40-year-old man allegedly threatened a 19-year-old man with what appeared to be a handgun.

Police said the suspect drove off, but officers caught him at a traffic stop. The suspect then reversed and rammed into an unoccupied police vehicle, nearly hitting a nearby officer…
