HONOLULU (KHON2)– We all know their famous chili, ono kine korean fried chicken and so much more. Zippy’s celebrates their 60th anniversary with food and new merchandise.
Zippy’s journey began in 1966 when founders Francis and Charlie Higa opened their first location in McCully. 60 years later, kama’aina and people worldwide continue to enjoy their comfort foods. Over 60 years, there have been changes, including the iconic Zippy’s logo. The original logo from 1966 was a long-tailed “Z”; then it became an iconic red logo, which was popular in the 90’s and early 2000’s, and even the orange dots that were included. These logos are now on coasters, a part of new merchandise. Don’t forget to get Zippy’s keychains, t-shirts, and a commemorative pin. All the Zippy’s merchandise is available now at zippys.com.
Zippy’s has also collaborated with Kahala Aloha Shirts to celebrate 60 years. The collaboration shirts are available starting in April and can be purchased online at kahala.com. You can also check them out on Instagram @kahala…
