WAIPIO, Hawaii (Island News) — The 44-year-old man who died after jumping from an apartment building in Waipio trying to escape an alleged kidnapping incident was identified by the medical examiner.
The Honolulu Police Department (HPD) responded to a report of an argument at a home on Hulukupuna Street in Waipio before 3:42 p.m. on Thursday, March 5, 2026. According to police reports, a 44-year-old man, identified as Shane Davidson of Kaneohe, broke a mirrored glass window, which injured a 66-year-old man.
