UPDATE: Flood advisory now in effect until early Friday morning as large rain shield continues march to northeast

Update at 11:42 p.m. Thursday, March 12, 2026: The flood advisory in effect for the island of Kaua’i has once again been extended because of excessive rainfall continuing to cause flooding.

National Weather Service forecasters in Honolulu extended the advisory until 3 a.m. Friday (March 13) as the threat of flooding on roadways and in poor drainage areas and streams persists.

Radar indicated at 11:19 p.m. today (March 12) that the large area of rain moving in from the southwest continues to overspread the Garden Isle and will for the next couple of hours…
