HONOLULU (KHON2) — Residents can expect periods of heavy rain that may lead to flash flooding, along with the possibility of strong to severe thunderstorms.

Southerly to southwesterly winds will strengthen, with the most powerful and potentially damaging gusts expected from Friday, March 13, into Saturday, March 14.

Wind speeds could be even stronger along the north and east sides of the islands, where the mountains can amplify those gusts.
