Crews use hydraulic tools to free city bus driver pinned after Kalihi tree crash

KALIHI (HawaiiNewsNow) – Honolulu first responders were called early Tuesday to a crash in Kalihi after a city bus struck a tree.

Honolulu police and firefighters responded just before 7:10 a.m. to Pua Lane and North Vineyard Boulevard.

The first unit arrived at 7:14 a.m. and reported one male, the driver of the bus, pinned in the driver’s seat. Crews stabilized the bus and utilized hydraulic rescue tools to unpin the diver…
