Arielle Konig testifies in Attempted Murder trial of husband

HONOLULU (KHON2) — For the first time since the alleged attack, in the courtroom, Arielle Konig came face-to-face with her husband, Gerhardt Konig, exactly one year after the incident on her birthday.

Konig testified that the couple traveled to Oahu to celebrate, beginning the day with what she called a “sweet” birthday card.

“You’re one of the most giving and selfless people I know, putting others before yourself with so much love. You’re the heart of our family. A fine, fearless and terrific mom. The kids and I hit the jackpot with you. Love always, G,” Arielle read out loud.

But a few hours later, on the Pali Puka trail, Arielle Konig described the alleged attack that started with her being shoved towards the steep cliff, then struggling to avoid being stabbed with a syringe, all while she said she tried to get him to think about their kids. “He has the vial in one hand in a closed fist, and he’s using his arm and hand to hold me down. And I’m trying to talk to him, and when I start screaming, he gives up the search for a syringe and holds his hand over my mouth, then resumes searching his bag,” said Arielle Konig…
