WAIPIO, Hawaii (KHON2) — City officials said 5,400 tons of debris have been brought to the temporary storage site at Central Oahu Regional Park from flood-damaged areas on the North Shore.
Residents near Mililani were a bit confused earlier this week as the Central Oahu Regional Park turned into a temporary dump site.
“Communication could have been clearer. There could have been some road signage explaining to passers-by, to residents, to drivers,” said Danielle Bass. “That said, we called them Wednesday morning, they responded Wednesday night with frequently asked questions, and they came to our neighborhood board to explain to us what’s going on here.”…
