HONOLULU (KHON2) — What started as a normal foil run ended up being a once-in-a-lifetime encounter caught on camera.
Eric Sterman was on his regular downwind foil run off of Oahu’s North Shore when he had a spectacular sighting.
“It was kind of just a little too perfect to be true,” Sterman said. “I saw something in the distance and I just happened to be rolling. As I came up to it, I then saw a shadow, then as the wave went by, it just happened to throw its tail out.”
Ocean sightings are not so out of the ordinary for Sterman, but what he happened to catch on camera was extraordinary…
