WAIPIO, Hawaii (Island News) – A two-alarm residential building fire was extinguished in Waipio on Saturday afternoon.
The Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) responded to a fire reported on Polinahe Place at approximately 1:05 p.m. and encountered heavy smoke and flames coming from the front and both sides of the second floor of the house. The incident was upgraded to a second-alarm assignment after a significant amount of smoke was seen rising into the air.
