HONOLULU (KHON2) — Thankfully, the overnight rain seemed to cause just minor problems across the state. But everyone is remaining vigilant as they brace for another potential round of flooding.
Fortunately, the latest storm hasn’t brought too much rain to Maui so far. Small ponds at Baldwin Beach Park near Paia, and some flooding along South Kihei Road. But it doesn’t take a lot of rain to cause problems.
“I’ve seen rain come from down the mountain where it’s sprinkling out in Kihei, and it’ll have a river come down the mountain,” said Brandon Holmes, a Kihei resident. “So it doesn’t matter if it’s raining or not. You’ve got to be on the lookout. So we just got to stay prepared and be aware.”…
